Our Luminous Baby! Our Journey to Conception

Hilary and I have some wonderful news to share: we’re expecting a child! As we celebrate this moment, we can’t help but reflect on the journey that led us here—a journey filled with resilience, family support, and a deep commitment to creating a life together.

Our story began with the help of Jaxson’s brother, who graciously offered to be our donor. After several treatments and hopeful moments, we are finally 12 weeks along. This experience has shown us the power of a loving support system, and we’ve been reminded that family comes together in many beautiful ways.

The Importance of Support
Through this process, the support we’ve received from family and even our community has been invaluable. If there’s one takeaway we hope to share, it’s this: navigating the path to parenthood, especially as a non-traditional family, can feel isolating at times. Finding people who can share in your journey can bring unexpected strength and joy.

Redefining Parenthood and Identity
As a transgender parent, I’ve found that defining my role has been a unique process. This journey has brought me to a place of understanding that parenthood isn’t about fitting into a particular mold but about embracing love and authenticity. For us, creating our family has been a story of weaving together biology, identity, and shared dreams.

The Power of Resilience
Resilience has truly been at the heart of our journey. Like many, we faced challenges along the way, from the unknowns of fertility preparation to the emotional rollercoaster that accompanies such a process. But with each step, we grew more determined, knowing that the path we were on was leading us closer to our family.

As we look to the future, we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share this next chapter with all of you. Thank you for your unwavering support and kindness—it’s a gift we cherish.

With gratitude,
Jaxson & Hilary
