Celebrating Baby Christopher!

This weekend Dr. Hilary and I (Dr. Jaxson) attended Christopher Michaels christening. It was a beautiful, greek orthodox, ceremony on sunny Saturday!

Christopher is a special child, his mum has been a part of Luminous Body as a patient and over the years has healed from chronic migraine, gut imbalance, toxin overload and multiple nutrient deficiencies. Her fertility journey took some effort and she was blessed with her pregnancy. Most pregnancies stretch for 9 months or more but Christopher decided that he wanted to be part of the action much much earlier, born at 23 weeks, he was very premature.

When he was born he weighed on grams, not kilos, his skin was thin and his eyes weren’t open. He was nursed and cared for in the NICU unit and Mum and Dad stayed with him daily as he grew. And grow he did! He was allowed to leave hospital just after his ‘due date’ 5 months later fitted with an oxygen tank as his lungs weren’t quite efficient enough to work on their own.

There is a high incidence in babies born prematurely of developmental issues and especially immune issues. Christopher is strong and willed, he’s upbeat and chatty and very willing. In the clinic he let’s us do all sorts of tests and treatments without complaint, although he does let you know exactly what he’s thinking at all times! He has a good network of allied health professionals like occupational therapy and the like. Between us we have been making sure he overcomes any developmental issues or delays. At this time we are focused on his nervous system developing and his primitive reflexes integrating.

We’re so beyond proud of Christopher and his parents. They are an inspiration to us and a constant reminder of why we do the work we do. Thank you for the trust and we’ll keep you updated on his progress!
